Infima Jpeg2000 compression SDK introduces a new method for preprocessing JPEG images before they are compressed.
Infima JPEG2000 compression library introduces a new compression modeling concept which allows us to re-compress JPEG2000 files without causing any addition loss in image quality.
JPEG-2000:
The codec is based on wavelet/subband coding techniques. It handles both lossy and lossless compression using the same transform-based framework, and borrows heavily on ideas from the embedded block coding with optimized truncation (EBCOT) scheme. In order to facilitate both lossy and lossless coding in an efficient manner, reversible integer-to-integer and nonreversible real-toreal transforms are employed. To code transform data, the codec makes use of bit-plane coding techniques.

Table 2 shows that across the range of images provided in the FujiFilm data set, the compression ratio achieved remains in the 30 percent range. The average time for both compression and decompression phases is 0.04 seconds.
